The Mountain View girls soccer team treated Thursday’s Class 3A District 4 championship game against Prairie like any other day on the pitch.

Prairie took a quick 1-0 lead on a goal from Abbigail Bennett in the third minute, but Mountain View’s swift response, taking a cue from standout senior forward Teaghan Irvin, was all effort and confidence.

Irvin scored her first of five goals in the seventh minute, had a hat trick by the 20-minute mark and added two more in the second half of an ultimate 5-1 win for the Thunder to win the district title in convincing fashion ahead of next week’s Class 3A state tournament.
