The Seton Catholic girls soccer team was rarely challenged during Trico League play this season, going 14-0 and outscoring opponents 95-5.
So the Cougars were happy to get a closer match Thursday at home in the semifinals of the District 4 tournament.
Seton Catholic needed two second-half goals to beat La Center 2-0 and clinch a berth to the Class 1A state tournament.
Despite controlling most of the possession Thursday, Seton had to work for a low-scoring win against a team with a packed-in defense. The Cougars (17-0-1) believe that experience will help as they seek a second consecutive trip to the state semifinals.
