BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Good morning!

A few showers and storms are developing across parts of central Alabama this morning as a warm front lifts northward.

Today: As we move through the afternoon, additional scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected to form, mainly across the southern half of the area. Some storms could become strong to marginally severe, producing gusty winds and hail.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed much of central Alabama under a Marginal Risk for severe storms today. The threat should gradually diminish after sunset as instability decreases.

Tonight: A few additional showers and storms may develop later tonight across the northern half of the area as another disturbance moves through. These storms will likely remain elevated but
