A child was allegedly stabbed during an altercation in Paisley on Bonfire Night. ‌

The 13-year-old was reportedly with friends at Paisley Cross when he was struck by a knife near the Holland and Barrett shop. ‌

Police raced to the scene at 8.55pm when huge sections of the surrounding streets were cordoned off. The youngster was taken to hospital for treatment. His current condition is unknown. ‌

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.55pm on Wednesday, November 5, we received a report of a 13-year-old boy seriously assaulted in the Gauze Street area of Paisley.

"He was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow. Our investigation is continuing with officers following a positive line of enquiry.” ‌
