CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — After some of West Virginia's higher elevations got their first dusting last week, winter weather is on its way to the rest of the state.

Starting Sunday night, temperatures are expected to plummet in West Virginia, with forecasted lows in the 20s on Monday and Tuesday. This cold weather could also bring the first snow of the season.

According to the National Weather Service's winter weather forecast, a good portion of the state is expected to get a dusting of less than half an inch, but there is a chance of widespread snowfall across the state, with a 10% chance of some higher elevation areas getting 2-3 inches of snow.
