ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) -- Veterans Day is already near, and many businesses want to thank those who served with a free meal or more.
While we honor and support our troops and veterans every day of the year, Veterans Day puts a spotlight on those who served, and numerous businesses are dishing out deals in thanks.
Those wishing to claim offers should have proof of service with them, including a military or VA card or discharge papers.
Applebee's
Applebee's under the Flynn Group will give veterans and active-duty military a free meal on Veterans Day. The meal must be chosen from a select menu consisting of seven of Applebee's most popular items. It's dine-in only, and you must mention the offer. In addition, patrons can "Buy a Vet a Beer," where vets can then get one prepaid pint of beer. A
