The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) has recommended that charges be laid against an Edmonton police officer surrounding an incident that occurred on September 8, 2023.

ASIRT’s investigation provided reasonable grounds to believe that an offence had been committed. On November 5, 2025, Constable Renzo Geronimo was charged with sexual assault, unlawful confinement, unlawfully in a dwelling house and breach of trust. He was release on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in Edmonton on December 10.

As the matter is in the courts, the full documentation cannot be released.
