MOUTH, Va. (WTVD) -- Five men had to be rescued after their sailboat began sinking off Cape Hatteras.
The Coast Guard said it received a distress call from the crew of the "Magic Bus" on Thursday morning. The five abandoned the boat and got onto a life raft.
The vessel was 260 nautical miles east of Cape Hatteras.
Video showed the rescue effort as an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew pulled the men up from the life raft into rescue baskets.
The men were taken back to Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City and were expected to be OK.
Details of what caused the sailboat to take on water were not immediately clear.
