RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- A unnamed stream feeding into Walnut Creek runs through the North Carolina State Farmers Market, carrying runoff from nearby buildings, roads, and parking lots.
A new feasibility study aims to restore the stream's health and improve stormwater management at the market, according to a news release.
"This impaired stream can no longer support its natural floodplain or a healthy ecosystem," said Susan Evans, chair of the Wake County Board of Commissioners. "The study will explore ways to restore the stream and create a healthy buffer after years of erosion."
