Democratic Sen. John Fetterman suffered “minor injuries” Thursday after a heart issue caused him to fall while taking a walk in his hometown of Braddock in Allegheny County.

A spokesperson said in a 12:45 p.m. post on X , formerly Twitter, that Fetterman was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital “out of an abundance of caution.”

Doctors determined that he had a ventricular fibrillation “flare-up” that caused him to feel light-headed. Fetterman fell and hit his face.

Fetterman was taking the incident in stride, saying in the post, “If you thought my face looked bad before, wait until you see it now!”

The spokesperson said Fetterman is “doing well and receiving routine observation at the hospital.” He is staying in the hospital so that doctors can “fine tune his medication regimen.”
