Police are investigating a serious stabbing in Willimantic.

Officers responded to a home on Pleasant Street around 5 p.m. on Sunday for the report of a male suffering from multiple stab wounds.

When they arrived, they performed life-saving measures and rushed the victim to Windham Hosptial. The victim was then transferred to Hartford Hospital to be treated for his injuries.

According to police, the victim and his girlfriend were invovled in a domestic dispute when a man known to both of them intervened and stabbed the victim several times before taking off from the scene on a scooter.

Police are calling this an isolated incident and said there is no threat to the public.
