West Midlands Ambulance Service has issued a statement after a man died in Sutton Park.

The man was found unresponsive in a field at the Sutton Coldfield park shortly before 6am on Sunday, November 23.

Paramedics, responding to a 'medical emergency', said the man was receiving CPR when they arrived before they immediately took over to administer advanced life support.

Tragically, the man could not be saved and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service told BirminghamLive this morning: "We were called to a medical emergency at Sutton Park, off Thornhill Road, Sutton Coldfield , at 5.50am.

"We sent three ambulances and a specialist paramedic
