COLLETON COUNTY, S.C. —

A man caught fire during an explosion at a South Carolina hunting lodge, according to rescuers.

The Colleton County Fire-Rescue said the 31-year-old man was cooking at a hunting lodge along Augusta Highway on Saturday when there was an explosion. They said the man was engulfed in flames.

The man walked to a nearby truck stop for help and was flown to the burn center at MUSC in Charleston.

He received first, second and third degree burns over most of his body.

The cooking shed was destroyed and one other building suffered damage, however, the main house, camper and other nearby buildings were saved.
