The Metropolitan Police has issued an appeal after a 26-year-old was killed in a hit-and-run in Canary Wharf.

Police were alerted to reports of a collision between a pedestrian and a car at 9:57pm on Thursday, October 30, on Aspen Way in Canary Wharf .

Both ambulance services and police attended. Despite the best efforts of first responders, the pedestrian, a 26-year-old man, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

It is understood that the victim was crossing the road with two friends when he was struck by a blue Ford Focus. The driver of the car fled the scene before officers arrived.
