Brendan Fraser visited  The Bellevue Theater in Montclair on Saturday, Nov. 22, as he continues to promote his new film, "Rental Family."

"Rental Family," which stars the Oscar winning actor is about an American actor living in Japan who works for an agency playing stand-in roles for strangers.

"Thanks for coming out to the screening," Fraser said. "This movie is about making a human connection, something that we can very easily overlook or lack in this increasingly synthesized world we live in and reaching out and having the authentic care and concern of someone close to you, is not a luxury we all have."

Frasier told the audience he learned to speak Japanese and noted people in Japan use the rental agencies because mental health is often stigmatized in Japan.

"You're going to watch a film that's a love letter to loneliness," Fraser said. "It's addressed to Tokyo, but could be anywhere."

The actor, who lives in Westchester County, New York in Bedford, has been keeping his busy promoting the film. After visiting Montclair, Fraser went to the Burns Film Center in Pleasantville, New York and did multiple Q-n-As.
