MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — A 34-year-old man died early Saturday morning in a single-vehicle collision in Berkeley County, sheriff’s officials reported. Preliminary investigation indicates speed and alcohol were contributing factors in the crash.
Deputies from the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched around 4 a.m. Saturday to the intersection of Butts Mill Road and Ferrels Ridge Road for a reported single-vehicle traffic collision. They found a 2012 silver Ford F-250 that had struck a tree.
The sole occupant, Bradley Dinges, 34, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical services. His next of kin has been notified.
The initial investigation determined the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when it crossed the median, left the roadway, and impacted the tree.
