A man accused of fatally shooting two people , including a child, said he wouldn’t have fired his weapon at the people who allegedly assaulted him had he known kids were in their vehicle, police said.

Tyrone Dee Chilly, a 28-year-old Phoenix resident, claimed to police that 30-year-old Quincy Jay Polk and a woman — who has not been identified — attacked him in a south Phoenix parking lot as part of an apparent road rage incident on Nov. 22.
