Woman thought she was going to die at hands of ex

A man beat up his partner and treated her "like a rag doll" after becoming angry when he saw her looking for clothes online, a court has heard. Adam Edwards quizzed the woman about who she was "trying to impress" before subjecting her to a series of assaults which culminated with him putting her hands around his partner's throat.

After letting go of her windpipe, the defendant told her: "That’s your warning." In a statement read to Swansea Crown Court the victim said she thought she was going to die at the hands of her partner, adding: "I will never fully recover from the defendant’s abuse but I will heal in time."
