A man who lead police on a foot chase through a residential estate as CCTV captured him throwing drugs over a garden fence has been sentenced. Rio Dinnall was chased down by officers from the Organised Crime Unit in Barry after he was seen acting suspiciously.

Plain clothed officers from South Wales Police spotted the Newport drug dealer in Clos Y Rheil Ffordd, Barry on Friday, June 20, but Dinnall ran off from the officer. He was chased through a housing estate armed with a crutch and images were caught on body-worn camera.

The 20-year-old was detained and handcuffed by the officer who then retraced his steps to find small wraps of crack cocaine in a front garden.
