Residents in Southall are being evacuated and several schools have sent pupils home early after a major warehouse fire broke out in West London this morning.

Ealing Council has warned that disruption is expected for at least the next eight hours. Around 100 firefighters and 15 fire engines were dispatched after the London Fire Brigade (LFB) received the first call at 8:55am.

Crews from Southall, Heston, Ealing and nearby stations are tackling the blaze, which has ripped through a two-storey warehouse and adjoining retail unit. The building is now described as fully alight both inside and out.
