OWENSBORO, Ky. (WFIE) - The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office says three people were arrested for having a psilocybin mushroom growing operation in their home.
Deputies were helping with a probation home visit in the 2400 block of Saint Ann Street in Owensboro on Monday.
They say illegal controlled substances were seen, and after executing a search warrant, they found the grown operation in the basement.
According to deputies, spores, seeds, grown mushrooms, gummies packaging, and other items used to process, package, and distribute illegal mushrooms were found in the home.
Officials say five boxes of finished mushrooms were located in a child’s bedroom.
A Kentucky State Police hazardous materials unit responded to conduct the cleanup.
