The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued multiple wind advisories for western and central New York, warning of potentially damaging winds from Wednesday afternoon through early Friday morning.

Western New York (Niagara, Orleans, Erie, Genesee, Wyoming, Chautauqua Counties)

A Wind Advisory remains in effect from noon Wednesday to 1 a.m. Friday.

Southwest winds: 30–40 mph

Gusts: 50–55 mph Wednesday afternoon and night

Thursday winds: West 25–35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph

Expected impacts include downed tree limbs, unsecured objects being blown around, and isolated power outages.

Rochester–Finger Lakes Region (Monroe, Wayne, Northern Cayuga Counties)

A Wind Advisory is in effect from 3 p.m. Wednesday to 1 a.m. Friday.

Winds: Southwest 25–35 mph with gusts 45–50 mph
