STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A crash on the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge is causing delays on the span and the Staten Island Expressway late in the Wednesday morning rush.
The collision is on the Brooklyn-bound upper level, and one lane is blocked for the emergency response, according to an alert from the MTA.
The crash was called at approximately 9:43 a.m., according to preliminary radio transmissions.
“Officers are on scene of a vehicle collision on the Brooklyn-bound upper level of the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge,” a spokesperson for the MTA confirmed.
One lane is blocked, the spokesperson added.
