A winter storm watch was in effect Friday morning for far northwest Ohio, and similar watches are likely to be posted for the rest of the region during the day.

The National Weather Service office in North Webster, Ind., said in the watch that includes counties west and southwest of metro Toledo that heavy snow was possible during the period from late Friday night through Sunday afternoon.

It said accumulations of 7 to 11 inches were possible in its coverage area, particularly to the north and west in northern Indiana and south central Michigan, while a snowfall of 2 to 6 inches was probable south of U.S. 24.

Other weather service offices in White Lake, Mich., and Cleveland had yet to issue their watch predictions for the storm as of mid-morning Friday.
