The National Weather Service issued a report at 11:59 a.m. on Friday for lake effect snow until 1 p.m. for Herkimer, Montgomery, Schoharie, Schenectady, Saratoga, Albany, Rensselaer and Columbia counties.
"At 11:59 a.m., a lake effect snow band was near Rotterdam moving east at 50 MPH," explains the weather service.
This includes the following highways: Interstate 88 between exits 20 and 25. Interstate 90 between exits 10 and 26, and near exit 29. Interstate 890 between exits 1a and 9. Interstate 87 between exits 21A and 7. Interstate 787 between exits 1 and 9.
Expect lake effect snow in the following locations:
Albany, Schenectady, Rotterdam, Colonie, Guilderland, and Niskayuna around 12:05 p.m.
Latham, Menands, and Loudonville around 12:10 p.m.
Troy, Cohoes, Watervliet, Rensselaer,
