SUMMIT TWP., MI – A candle is believed to have started a fire that displaced a family in Summit Township Saturday night.
Fire crews were called at about 8:18 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, to a home in the 5000 block of Joymont Street for a reported structure fire, Summit Township Fire Cpt. John Gonzales said.
Crews arrived to find a triplex residence with smoke coming from a bedroom window of one of the three homes in the building, Gonzales said.
The home’s occupants, two adults and four children, had safely evacuated the building prior to firefighters arriving at the scene, Gonzales said.
