A chilly start to the work week is underway, and widespread rain is expected to move in by the afternoon.

Although it’s chilly, we started your Monday morning off dry, but that won't last for long. Just after lunchtime, showers will begin to move in toward the Shoals, becoming widespread by the time we are heading home from school and work. This rain will stick around through the evening and overnight hours and into early Tuesday morning.

Aside from a few rogue showers early Tuesday, out-the-door temperatures will remain chilly, sitting in the mid-30s. All the rain we see Tuesday will clear out by mid-morning at the latest, and clouds will taper off by the afternoon. Highs will only reach around 40.
