A winter weather advisory was issued by the National Weather Service on Monday at 12:31 p.m. valid from Tuesday 7 a.m. until Wednesday 1 a.m. for Hamilton, Herkimer, Fulton, Montgomery, Warren, Washington, Schoharie, Columbia, Ulster and Dutchess counties.

The weather service states to prepare for, "Total snow accumulations between 2 and 6 inches."

"Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday morning and evening commutes," states the weather service. "Slow down and use caution while traveling. Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. These surfaces could be icy and slippery, increasing your risk of a fall and injury."
