HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WDAM) - A man has been arrested after a deadly multi-vehicle crash on Highway 98 in Hattiesburg on Saturday afternoon.

According to a release from the Hattiesburg Police Department, officers responded to the scene of a crash involving two vehicles at the intersection of Highway 98 and North Gate Road around 2:00 p.m.

After further investigation, authorities learned that a Dodge Ram driven by Jonathan Morrow was traveling north at a high rate of speed and disregarded two stop signs while crossing Highway 98. Morrow’s vehicle then struck a Ford F-150, driven by James Rowlett of Oxford, that was traveling west.

Rowlett received fatal injuries from the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Morrow was transported to Forrest General Hospital with minor injuries. He
