KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - A Knox County man is facing charges after he allegedly hit a two-month-old in the head during an fight with a woman.

According to a warrant obtained by WVLT News, deputies went to a home on Rutledge Pike and spoke with a woman who said 34-year-old David Coney, of Corryton, assaulted her and the infant.

Coney told deputies he got into an argument with the woman while she was holding the infant, adding that he “ran up on her” before they were both “swinging on” each other, the warrant said. Coney also alleged that the woman threw a baby bottle at the infant and may have turned him away from a punch into a cinder block wall.

Deputies said the woman had strangulation marks on her neck, and the infant had bruising and bleeding on his head.
