ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —

Albuquerque transit officials have reported a rise in crimes, including aggravated assault, battery, and vandalism, on the transit system compared to last year, according to ABQ Ride's latest quarterly security report . While crimes related to narcotics have decreased, the overall number of calls responded to by law enforcement and security agencies remains nearly identical to a year ago .

Currently, three law enforcement and security agencies respond to calls on buses, at bus stops, and at facilities, including Albuquerque police officers, community safety officers, and personnel from the Metro Security Division.
