MARQUETTE, MI - Winter hasn’t even officially started yet and already part of Michigan is busting into the Top 10 snowiest records for the month of November.

Our friends at the National Weather Service office in Marquette - actually located outside of town in Negaunee Township - said the heavy amount of snow that fell in their area last month nearly beat a decade-old record for the snowiest November.

The month-long tally put November 2025 in third place in the record books, with a whopping 48.8 inches of total snowfall. And the amazing part: 26 inches of that came during the Thanksgiving Week snowstorm.

The NWS records there date back to 1959.

And November’s total nearly tied for second place. Snow in November 1991 stacked up at 48.9 inches.
