A police manhunt is under way to find a Northumberland man who has failed to turn up at court. Tommy Monnelly, 31, is understood to be "actively evading arrest".

Northumbria Police confirmed that "extensive enquiries" are ongoing to find Monnelly, who is from the Prudhoe area. The police highlighted that harbouring a wanted person is an offence in itself.

In an appeal, the force released an image of Monnelly and said: "Police are appealing for the public’s help to locate a wanted Northumberland man. Tommy Monnelly, who is aged 31, is wanted after failing to appear at court.
