Heartbroken children have told the driver who killed their dad that learning his final moments were filled with an "unimaginable amount of pain and fear" has been insufferable. Paul David Brand has been remembered by his children as "truly one of the good ones".

His life was tragically cut short by the "thoughtless mistake" of Sahil Nagpal, from Wardley, Gateshead , who was convicted of causing death by dangerous driving. On October 8, 2023, Nagpal was at the wheel after a family day out.
