A 23-year-old Hoboken resident was arrested and charged with stealing three purses in one night, authorities announced Wednesday, Dec. 3.
At 11:50 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 7, officers responded to the 50 block of Garden St. after a woman said her purse had been stolen after she dropped it, Hoboken police said.
Less than an hour later, officers responded to First and Hudson Streets after a man, later identified as Androkle Batistasoriano, grabbed her purse, and fled before stealing a scooter on the Stevens Institute of Technology campus, police said.
Ten minutes later, Batistasoriano grabbed another woman's purse on the 900 block of Garden Street and ran off, police said.
No injuries were reported, police said.
Batistasoriano was arrested on Tuesday, Nov. 25 and charge with two counts of robbery and two counts of theft, police said.
