A person was hit by a train at a Merseyrail station this afternoon. Train services are currently suspended on the West Kirby line following the incident between Bidston and West Kirby.
Merseyrail said in a statement on X: "Due to a a person being hit by a train, services on the West Kirby line face cancellations or alterations."
According to the train company, trains are unable to run between Birkenhead North and West Kirby and will be cancelled or revised. Rail replacement buses are in operation between these stations in both directions.
Tickets are being accepted for rail users on Arriva and Stagecoach buses in the affected areas.
Disruption is expected until around 7pm.
