COLDWATER, MI — Richard Gump, 64, is facing life felony charges of first-degree criminal sexual conduct for the alleged sexual assaults of an eight-year-old girl and her 10-year-old sister in Coldwater in the fall of 2023.

Coldwater Police took Gump into custody on Tuesday, Dec. 2, after the original complaint was filed in January 2024. The investigations halted after the victims' mother moved with the girls to Indiana, according to the Branch County Prosecutor's office.
