Five men are being sentenced for arson attacks at the home of John Henry Sayers. A vehicle was driven into his property and set alight and a car belonging to him was also torched.
The attacks happened at Sayers' home on the Fossway, in Byker, Newcastle, in January and February this year. In the first incident, a VW Golf belonging to Sayers and parked outside the address was torched .
Then on February 2, a Range Rover was reversed into his premises and set on fire while Sayers and members of his family were inside. Grant Royal, John Reid, Mitchell Smith, Grant Curley and Walter Patterson have all entered guilty pleas in relation to the incidents.
