LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - We’re keeping a close eye on winter weather across the Commonwealth as two separate disturbances influence different regions of Kentucky today—one being a weak cold front early this morning , and the other a southern system sliding in later this evening into tonight .

That initial front is tossing light snow and scattered flurries across the northern half of the state. Flurries may linger at times throughout the day as temperatures run significantly below average . Afternoon readings hover from the upper 20s to mid-30s for a lot of us.

As for the southern system arriving tonight into Friday morning, I still have a couple of big questions—mainly, how far north does this thing manage to climb? It’s a quick hitter, but I do think it can coat southeaste
