Two Gateshead properties have been served with closure orders after they were linked to anti-social behaviour, drugs and violence. A series of offences were linked activity at houses on Simonside Place in Wrekenton and Kingston Road in Deckham.

Anti-social behaviour and violence was reported at both properties, and drug-related crime was identified specifically at the Simonside Place property. Northumbria Police officers, Gateshead Council and The Home Group housing association used civil legislation powers, and a full closure order for Simonside Place was granted on Friday, November 28 at North Tyneside Magistrates' Court.
