A mum-of-one described as a cherished and beautiful soul took her own life after she was involved in a car accident and was arrested. Paulina Szafert was found in her bed by a friend; she had taken an overdose and left a note asking for someone to take care of her French bulldog Fifi.
An inquest at Bournemouth Coroners’ Court heard she was “traumatised” by the accident, which happened about a week before she died and the experience and arrest had left her “very stressed and physically shaking”. In a statement, her friend Alicja Fabisiak revealed that Paulina had suffered mental health problems in the past and the accident had really “impacted” her state of mind.
