A devastated dog owner was left with a five-figure bill when an XL Bully launched a fatal attack on her pet.
The woman was walking her dog when an 'escaped' XL Bully suddenly appeared.
She tried to lift her pet out of harm's way as the XL Bully attacked, but it pulled the dog out of its harness and continued to maul it.
The victim also suffered serious injuries to both hands as she tried to protect her pet.

Earlier this month, Chelmsford Magistrates' Court was told the dog had to be euthanised three days after the May 28 attack in Trent because of the severity of its injuries.
The owner incurred more than £11,000 on vet and cremation costs.
