Due to growing public concern, officials announced that as of 10pm on Monday, the Town of Meeker is NOT under any pre-evacuation or evacuation orders. The Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office announced to the public that the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page is the only accurate and official place for updates. It’s also recommended to sign up for Rio Blanco Alerts to receive emergency notifications. While the Town of Meeker is not included, there are certain areas under evacuation order. The latest is near the Lee Fire and is a new Evacuation Order for everything south of Highway 64 from mile marker 58 to mile marker 67.
