CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Photos submitted to WBTV from across the Charlotte region showed flooding and other damage caused by rainy weather on Tuesday.
Significant rainfall was recorded throughout central North Carolina and Upstate South Carolina as of the early afternoon on Tuesday, Aug. 5. Some areas -- like Rock Hill and Mecklenburg County -- saw more rainfall than others.

Flooding in Rock Hill
In Rock Hill, nearly five inches of rain had fallen within a 24-hour period, as of about 3 p.m. on Tuesday. More rain was expected to fall , though showers were likely to become more scattered throughout Tuesday afternoon and evening.
