ROLESVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — Heavy rains have caused a number of issues this summer, and now some farmers across the state are worried they could see negative impacts.
CBS 17 spoke with Blake Barham, owner of Barham Family Farms in north Wake County.
"The farm started in 1953 and I’m the third generation here," Barham said.
Barham Family Farms in Rolesville makes most of its money from harvesting tobacco.
“As it continues to rain, the crop deteriorates further in the field and you know, it costs us money and time,” said Barham Thursday.
He says too much rain can also cause equipment issues, make it hard to harvest crops, and wind from storms can even blow crops over. However the rain has helped him save money on irrigation. He says the rainfall has helped his crops grow quickly, but now
