RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — The National Weather Service in Raleigh has placed central Wake County under a flash flood warning late Thursday night until early Friday morning.
At 11:09 p.m., Doppler radar showed thunderstorms producing heavy rain moving across Wake County. That prompted forecasters to issue a flash flood warning that is expected to be in effect until 2:15 a.m. Friday.
According to NWS Raleigh, up to two inches of rain have already fallen in the area under alert, with up to two more inches possible. Cities and towns in the warned area include Raleigh, Cary, Garner, Apex, Morrisville and Knightdale as well as Raleigh-Durham International Airport.
