The city of Phoenix will have a new face in the position of its city manager after Jeff Barton announced he will retire in November, according to a press release.
Barton was the first Black city manager in Phoenix history and has more than 25 years with the city of Phoenix.
He has held positions that range from deputy city manager, assistant city manager and budget and research director, the press release stated.
