The more things change, the more they stay the same with Carey football.
The Panthers graduated 11 seniors from their 2024 1A state championship team in 2024. That doesn’t change the goal. Carey has a tradition to uphold, with eight state titles in program history. It wants to be in the mix for another in November.
”At Carey we have a saying that tradition never graduates,” senior running back Stockton Sears told the Times-News . “And I think that we hold true to that. We know that even though we lose some guys everyone else has to pick up the slack and we’re all working hard to be where we want to be at the end of the year.”
That’s not to say the Panthers losses weren’t significant. Senior quarterback and 1A Player of the Year Preston Wood is now playing for College of Idaho.
