For Dietrich head coach Garrett Astle, every season is a new opportunity.

Yes, the Blue Devils may not have the same talent or experience they did a year ago, graduating nine seniors from a 1A state runner-up squad.

But the focus now is maximizing this team and seeing where Dietrich ends up on its journey this fall.

”Very eager to get started,” Astle told the Times-News. “These boys have been putting in work all summer long in the weight room and passing leagues and everything else and I think they’re very excited and I’m very excited to see what they can progress as the season goes on.”

This journey will be different. The Blue Devils have to replace a game-changer in all-state quarterback Connor Perkins, who could carry his team to wins. Also gone is Sawtooth Conference Defensive Play
