A funfair was forced to close after emergency services were called to the scene following reports of a "seriously injured" individual on one of the rides.
The incident occurred at the Spanish City Summer Funfair in Whitley Bay, near Newcastle, with ambulances arriving shortly before 2.15pm on Saturday afternoon.
The funfair, which was bustling with families enjoying the bank holiday weekend, was promptly shut down until further notice.

The Great North Air Ambulance Service landed adjacent to the funfair and immediately attended to the injured party.
